Matt Koslovsky
Assistant Professor of Statistics at CSU
I graduated with a PhD in Biostatistics from The University of Texas Health Science Center School of Public Health (UTHealth) in December 2016 and held an appointment as a Post-Doctoral Research Associate in Data Science at Rice University in Dr. Marina Vannucci’s research lab from March 2018 to August 2020. Prior to this role, I served as a statistical consultant in the Biostatistics Lab at Johnson Space Center on the Human Health and Performance Contract. I joined the Statistics Department at Colorado State University as an Assistant Professor Fall 2020. My research interests include:
Theory and Methods: Bayesian modeling, variable selection, graphical models, nonparametric Bayes, statistical computing, multistate Markov models, R package development, varying-coefficient models, hidden Markov models, variational inference, joint modeling
Application: cancer prevention, smoking behaviors, mental health, addiction, physical activity, nutrition, microbiome, mHealth, ecological momentary assessment, intensive longitudinal data, environmental health, human health and performance in space, ecology

Hyungjoon Kim
PhD Statistics Candidate, CSU (co-advised with Dr. Andee Kaplan)
From 2016 to 2021, Hyungjoon worked for Korea Credit Bureau as a lead consultant and data scientist specializing in detecting financial fraud. Afterward, he worked as a fraud data analyst for Viva Repulica Inc. (Toss) in 2021. He completed my M.S. in Statistics at Korea University (Advisor: Dr. Taeryon Choi) in 2016 and my B.E. in Statistics at Korea University in 2014. His research interests include: variational inference, Bayesian statistics, record linkage, parallel computing, streaming data analysis, clustering, Markov-chain Monte Carlo, machine learning, rare events data analysis, fraud detection, and statistical software development. Here’s a link to his website.
Brody Erlandson
PhD Statistics Candidate, CSU (co-advised with Dr. Ander Wilson)
Brody is a PhD Candidate in Statistics at Colorado State University, previously receiving his Masters from the University of Michigan and Bachelors from Eastern Michigan University. Brody’s interests include Bayesian methodology, probabilistic machine learning, and causal inference.
